Pink Collar Cares is a non-profit organization created to encourage positive self-image in today's youth. Through the distribution of personal hygiene kits, Pink Collar Cares (PCC) strives to provide children in need with essentials to start each day clean, properly groomed, and prepared to learn. Many local children often may not have access to hygiene items that the majority of us take for granted. They are unable to replenish their hygiene products and families often struggle with providing the necessities for their children. Each kit includes deodorant, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and seasonal items. Our focus is fifth grade students to help prepare them for middle school. However, hygiene products and literature are distributed to students of all grades and ages.
During the 2022-2023 school year, PCC launched the 'Stay Clean Cabinet' initiative. We provided 6/8 NNPS middle schools with cabinets that contained loose items for students to grab as needed, in an effort to continue to meet the needs of students that may struggle with hygiene item replenishment. Items can be retrieved from the cabinets in a discreet manner, reducing opportunities for unwarranted teasing and bullying. We will continue supplying middle schools while adding high schools to the service list during this upcoming school year. Kits can be distributed during a fun assembly style performance to engage students and teachers with the importance of proper hygiene practices and encourage students to live out our slogan: Feel Good, Look Good, Do Good.
Introducing the concept of beauty starts within. When children understand the impact of positive self-image, they are better mentally equipped to handle outside opinions. Good hygiene habits are also vital to our overall health.
Along with feeling good, we encourage today's youth to take pride in how they present themselves. Establishing a good routine to prepare for an excellent day includes decisions on what to wear. This concept is useful for determining attire for various occasions.
We offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities for interested students to get involved in volunteering with PCC. Doing good for themselves and communities has a positive bearing on their adolescent journey.
At Pink Collar Cares, our vision is to create healthy communities where our youth thrive with confidence and knowledge of proper hygiene and grooming habits. Healthy homes provide optimal environments for positive communities.
We distribute personal hygiene items and supplies coupled with literature to today's youth. By introducing and supporting healthy hygiene habits, we work graciously towards equipping this next generation with positive self-image and confidence.
Over the years, we have accomplished many important milestones in our mission to support the needs of youth that do not have regular access to hygiene essentials. This past school year included serving over 10 public schools with supplies and cabinets.
